DigiTimes: Acer, Asustek Computer, Toshiba and Samsung to Use Tegra 2 for Tablets in 2011

The NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset is poised to become the de facto benchmark for mobile processors in the new year. Already expected on a number of devices such as the LG Star and Motorola tablet, DigiTimes says we should add Acer, Asustek Computer, Toshiba and Samsung tablets to the list. Yep, even Samsung who has already developed their own processors like the Hummingbird and Orion. Further, "China-based white-box players" are said to be flocking to the chipset, meaning we'll see a host of low-cost Android tablets in the new year.

According to sources, Tegra 2-based models may account for 50% of ARM-based tablets in 2011. If you think you saw the term "Snapdragon" everywhere this year, you'll likely get sick of hearing of Tegra 2 by the time flowers are blooming again.
